  Had a disappointing birthday meal here last week. The building is lovely and the interior warmly decorated. It was very quiet as an early Sunday evening so assumed things would go smoothly but unfortunately it was poor at every step. We were there 45 mins before any food came which, with three kids in the party (including one under 2) wasn't ideal as they got increasingly impatient and tired. My specifications for my son's dairy free meal were not strictly adhered to (tho it was dairy free). My sisters dish was unavailable so she was urged to choose something else with a slight modification. When it arrived the modification hadn't been performed. We were left waiting ridiculous amounts of time between courses, had to actually ask for the food menus and later for the dessert menus as they weren't brought over and had about 5 different people serving us over the evening so it was v chaotic. Food was ok, certainly not the best I've tasted of it's type. We were there over 3 hours in the end, everyone was tired and fed up and upon leaving we all agreed we wouldn't be back.

  Terrible food, worst roast dinners we've ever had. Small amount of over cooked veg, weird sweet onion gravy that made everything taste sweet plus carrots were honey glazed so also sweet. Not well thought out! Potatoes with the veggie dinner were extremely well done / burnt. Overall it was overpriced and very poor.

  Disappointing Sunday lunch, food was cold for most of our party and did not seem interested in sorting it out. Shame as our last visit was much better

  Great food and great service. We had Sunday roast, food was served hot and the meat was tender and taste. Highly recommended if you are looking for a family friendly cosy pub.
